Philip R. Brown, D.V.M.

Dr. Brown was born in Germany and resided abroad as well as in the U.S. After graduation from the College of Veterinary Medicine, he served as a captain in the U.S. Army and spent two years in the pathology program at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center. He practiced emergency medicine and relief veterinary medical work in Denver before relocating to Springfield where he operated ANEM Pet Emergency Hospital, one of the first dedicated emergency facilities in Missouri.

After several years of mixed animal practice, he now limits his practice to small animals at the Animal Care Center.

James Jones, D.V.M.

Dr. Jones is a native of South Dakota. He graduated from the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. After graduation he practiced in South Dakota for 12 years before moving to Springfield, MO in 2006.

His veterinary interests are varied but he feels helping owners learn how to keep their pets healthy is probably the best service he can provide, whether it be a rabbit, bearded dragon, dog, cockatoo or cat.

Outside veterinary medicine Dr. Jones enjoys reading, exercising (moderately) and the occasional movie.

Dr. Jones and his wife share their residence with Ginger, a manx cat (or maybe she shares her residence with them).

Dr. Debbie Shaw

Dr. Debbie Shaw was born in Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from Kansas State University in 1978 and worked in the Kansas City area for 5 years before buying her own animal hospital in Laurie, Missouri. After selling her practice she moved to Pagosa Springs, Colorado to raise her Peruvian gaited horses and worked for different Veterinarians on a relief basis.

She also took some courses in Equine Chiropractic and worked with different people and horses in that area in a number of different states. She missed the Ozarks terribly and moved back in 2003. Winters were long in Colorado and there seemed to be only two seasons: Winter and August!

She now lives outside Republic, Missouri on a small farm with her 6 cats, which kindly allow her to live in the house with them. Her practice goal is to provide the best quality and compassionate medical treatment and care to the clients and pets she serves.
